TEAM Razzle Dazzle Bag Check

Thursday, April 11th we will have full bag check and dress rehearsal for TEAM RAZZLE DAZZLE dancers from 5:30-7:00. Dancers will excused at 7:00. Full hair and make-up is required for this rehearsal.

Remember that travel jackets are part of bag check and dancers are required to have them tomorrow night. All pieces of their costume must be in their competition bag. These pieces include: black and purple dress, black and purple hair piece, black fishnet tights, black gore boot jazz shoes. If you do not already have your child's costume, it can be picked up in the store.

SPOTLIGHT DANCE COMPETITION: is Saturday, April 13th at the Austad Auditorium in Ogden:

Dancers must be inside the building, in their travel jacket with full hair and make-up, at their call time. Call time for Team Razzle Dazzle is 7:00am.

Dancers are excused to go with their parents after they perform, but MUST return for awards at 11:50am. Dancers will sit with their class, on the stage, during awards. Travel jackets must be worn to awards.

Please be aware that, most dance competitions charge an entry fee to parents and other spectators.

This is an exciting time for our dancers. They have worked very hard and this is their moment to shine. Please remember that they will reflect your attitude and level of sportsmanship. We want all of our dancers to "win 1st place"- but more importantly we want them to feel proud of themselves, their team, and have fun! Please help me to facilitate this!

***Looking Ahead:  GP Pictures will be here on April 23rd to take pictures during regular class, in costumes. Dancers will be excused to go home as soon as their pictures are taken.

**** PARENT Audition Meeting for the 2013-2014 dance year will be  Wednesday the 24th from 5:30-6:30 in Rm 2. This is a very important meeting. We will discuss all information and pricing for classes next year. Please make every effort to attend.

APRIL Events

April is a very busy month for our dancers. Here is a list of upcoming events and details to keep us all organized!

April 6th: Mandatory rehearsal for Razzle Dazzle 5K, Razzle Dazzle 5-7 yrs, and Team Razzle Dazzle 11:00-1:00PM. This is an extra rehearsal for all competition Razzle Dazzle dancers. We will be cleaning dances and spacing on the gym floor. The snack bar will be open, and dancers will be given a short break for a snack. Clinic for PARENTS: From 1:00-1:30 in RM 4, we will be demonstrating competition hair and make-up for all the parents. This will be a great time to get all questions answered!!

April 8th: All Razzle Dazzle 5K, Razzle Dazzle 5-7 yrs, and Team Razzle Dazzle dancers will be competing at RELEVE' in Saratoga Springs. Entry fees are due on this date and may be paid in the store.

April 11th: BAG CHECK for TEAM RAZZLE DAZZLE. All competing dancers are required to have a separate bag for dance competitions. An inspection list has been sent home with a list of all items required to be in your dancer's bag, for every performance and competition. Planning ahead for all possible problems helps ensure a wonderful experience for all our dancers. We strive to be professional and prepared. We want our dancers to strive for the same. Please help us by making sure your dancer has all the items needed for a perfect bag check!!

April 13th: SPOTLIGHT DANCE COMPETITION IN OGDEN! Times TBA!!

April 22-25th: GP PICTURES will be here to take group and individual pictures of all dancers in their costumes. Competing dancers should have competition hair and make-up. Razzle Dazzle 4's should have hair pulled up into a "princess bun" on the crown of their head. Make-up is at your discretion. Intro dancers should have hair pulled back from their face, make-up is at your discretion. On pictures day, dancers will be excused as soon as their pictures have been taken.

FRIDAY TAP REHEARSAL

Friday, March 22nd there will be a mandatory TAP rehearsal for all Razzle Dazzle 5 K , Razzle Dazzle 5-7 year olds, and TEAM Razzle Dazzle dancers. The rehearsal will be from 4-5:00 in Rm. 1.

These dancers will be performing a Tap Production Number in the Studio Concert on May 4th. Costume fees for this dance will be minimal and not due until mid-April. They will wear their black class leotards and tan tap shoes as part of their costume.

Please make every effort to be sure that your dancer is in attendance!

**Tap, Ballet, and Jazz will be incorporated throughout the summer. Please send your dancer in a leotard and tights with ballet and tap shoes every week.

Princess Crowns and Gowns: Please send your dancer in their favorite princess crown and gown on this day. We will be learning some royally impressive moves!

Fairies and Fruity Smoothies: Please send your dancer in their fairy wings or tu-tu for a whimsical class ending with a fruity smoothie!

Parents Day: The last day of class, parents are invited to attend class and watch what we have been working on all summer!

Razzle Dazzle 5K, 5-7, Team RzDz Registration 2013-2014

In house registration for all dancers, for the 2013-2014 dance season will be: February 19-22nd.

However, our all our dancers 6 and up will be eligible to AUDITION for either Team Razzle Dazzle or Dazzles 1 & 2. This is a great opportunity to leap into our competition dance program! Placement auditions will held the week of May 20th. Dancers will have Audition Prep Classes May 14,15,&16 - so they will be prepared and know what to expect.

If you are unsure whether your dancer is ready to advance to a competitive team, please discuss it with their teacher before or after classes.

For dancers not wanting to increase their level of commitment, Razzle Dazzle 5-7 will be their placement for 2013-2014. Please register, during registration week, for this class- it fills very quickly!


Team Razzle Dazzle: T/TH 5:30-7:30
• A beginning/intermediate group. Dancers are ages 6-10. You must AUDITION for placement in this group. Enrollment into this group closes Oct. 1st
• Classes are in TAP, BALLET, & JAZZ
• Class uniform is required along with travel jacket.
• Classes are required, you may make up absences by attending another class.
• Dancers perform at Progression Night in December.
• Dancers will purchase up to 2 costumes not exceeding $85.00/each.
• Dancers will compete at 2 dance competitions in the spring.
• Dancers will perform at the Studio Recital in May.


Dazzles 1 & 2: M/W 4:15-6:30
• A beginning/intermediate group. Dancers are ages 6-10. You must AUDITION for placement in this group. Enrollment into this group closes Sept. 1st

• Classes are in TAP, BALLET, & JAZZ
• Class uniform is required along with Winner School travel gear.

• Classes are required, you MUST make up absences by attending another class.
• Choreography rehearsals are MANDETORY, and may be held on Saturdays.

• DANCE ATTACK dance convention is required two times a year.

• Dancers perform at Progression Night in December.

• Dancer will perform at up to 2 other venues during the dance year.
• Dancers will purchase up to 2 costumes not exceeding $100.00/each.
• Dancers will compete at 2 dance competitions in the spring, one may require travel outside the Salt Lake Valley.

• Dancers will perform at the Studio Recital in May.

Miss Vicki Says Good-Bye

We are so sad to say good-bye to Vicki Hoban, our Razzle Dazzle evening teacher.

Miss Vicki has moved to Colorado with her husband Travis and daughter Maylee. Travis received a fabulous job offer in a resort town outside of Denver, which they accepted at the end of December.

Vicki was so sad to leave her beautiful dancers, but excited to start a new adventure with her family!

We will miss her and wish her the best!!!!

A Few Reminders for Progression Night

*Hair and make-up for Intro 3s, Razzle Dazzle 4s, Razzle Dazzle 5K & 5-7 Yrs. dancers is at your discretion. Hair bows will be passed out at call time to all dancers. Please have at least sides pulled up so we have something to attach the bow to.


*Class uniforms are to be worn by all Intro, Razzle Dazzle, and TEAM Razzle Dazzle dancers. Intro 3s and Razzle Dazzle 5K & 5-7s should wear pink ballet tights.
**Dancers should arrive 20 minutes before their show begins. All dancers should have their tap and ballet shoes labeled with their name. When you arrive, please take your dancer to the restroom and then check them in, with their teacher, in RM 4.

***The performance will last approximately 1 hour with light refreshments to follow.
