We are excited for Team Teachers this year, every teacher is teaching in their area of expertise! We are hoping to eliminate outside subs, and keep our students on their toes!

Curriculum:

At the Winner School our dance program is very progressive. Every year the skills are age appropriate, and builds upon the last. We feel strongly about training in every genre and take great pride in producing well rounded dancers. No year is a "repeat" of the last!

Progression Night:

Progression Night is a mid-year performance designed to showcase the dancers' progression in every genre of dance. Each child will showcase a skill they have been mastering in tap, ballet, and jazz! The will also show the beginning of their dance for the Studio Performance in May. This year we will also have special performances by our Dazzles dancers.

Performances:

All the dancers in our beginning program perform in Progression Night and the Studio Concert in May. Every child is required to purchase one costume that will never exceed $85. Costume deposit are usually around $50 and due in January. Dancers in kindergarten thru 2nd grade compete in at least one Dance Competition locally. There is a minimal entry fee for all competing dancers. This fee goes directly to the Competition and the amount is not decided by the Winner School. Dance Competitions usually fall in the month of April. We will have dates to you as soon as possible!

** Please make sure you are receiving monthly calendars. Most of them have been sent home already. Extra calendars are available outside Room 1.

We are looking forward to a FABULOUS year! Thanks for your continued support of the Winner School programs. WE LOVE your children, and are thrilled to watch them grow!!!!

WELCOME New Teachers!!!

The Winner School is thrilled to introduce THREE new teachers to our Intro/Razzle Dazzle Staff! We are excited to introduce a team teaching method to our program this year. All dancers will have two teachers, each instructing in the method of their own expertise. The Winner School is always looking for ways to keep our classes fresh. We strive to offer the best technique available to all dancers, in every genre. With an exceptionally qualified staff, who LOVE dance and children, we are expecting an AMAZING year!!

Miss Tracey is the tap instructor for the majority of evening TAP classes at the Winner School.
She will be joining the daytime staff for the first time this year.
Miss Tracey team teaches with Miss Denae,
look for her on Wednesdays!

Tracey is a fourth generation master teacher and choreographer. She has been involved in all aspects of dance, specializing in dance education for preschool and young children. For much of her life, Tracey owned and operated Tracy’s Dance Academy, universally recognized as one of the most prestigious dance studios throughout the Salt Lake Valley. She has toured the nation as one of the original Dance Caravan Kids. Tracey has studied under such legends as Joe Tremaine, Luigie Emmy Award winner, Tommy Walsh, ad internationally acclaimed choreographer, Marguerite Derricks.

When it comes to dance education there has been no stone left unturned. Tracey has an extensive background in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical and specializes in children’s work. She has studied with the University of Utah Ballet Department, is a member of Dance Educators of America and has served on the Board of Directors for Utah Contemporary Dance Theatre. Tracey has toured as a faculty member with the international company, I Love Dance Inc., and she was a choreographer for the international touring group “Sweethearts and Heart Throbs”. Tracey has choreographed performances for the 2002 Winter Olympics, NBA Jazz halftime, Norwegian and Carnival cruise lines, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Her choreography has won countless “1st place”, “Overall”, “Best of Show” for regional and national competitions throughout the US.

Miss Vicki joined the Razzle Dazzle Program in September.
She teaches Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Miss Vicki teaches TEAM RAZZLE DAZZLE along with Miss Denae.

Vicki Hoban has danced for 17 years and is trained in jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop. She is passionate about all performing arts and has an extensive background in vocal and theater performance. She has performed coast to coast, including touring with ÒShowcase USAÓ at a young age.

Vicki is an experienced dance instructor at all levels, having taught for nine years at studios and in public and private schools throughout Utah County. Her favorite part of teaching dance has been choreographing over 20 shows. Vicki was also Varsity Cheer Coach at Provo High for four years. She received her Bachelors degree and teaching license from Utah Valley University.

In addition to teaching, Vicki owns Basa Body, a socially-conscious skin-care company that specializes in all-natural products. When she’s not dancing or running a company, Vicki loves tennis, running and yoga. Above all else, she loves spending time with her husband, Travis, and her five-year-old daughter, Maylee.

Miss Kellie joins the Winner School staff beginning this week.
Kellie will team teach with Ms. Emily.
Look for Kellie in Intro and Razzle Dazzle classes on Tuesdays.

Kellie has trained in the Russian Vaganova method of ballet, for over 15 years. Always having a love of dance and the ability of the body to move, she found her passion in classical ballet at the age of 12.  Kellie trained at a local ballet studio in classical ballet as well as character dance. She continued to take technique class and perform after starting a family, her last performance taking place shortly after finding out she was expecting her fifth child.
Kellie has been teaching ballet for the past nine years. Teaching ages 3 through beginning adult. She believes in teaching very young dancers to enjoy the way their bodies move, to be familiar with musical rhythms and to be comfortable on stage. Kellie focuses on laying a sound foundation for correct technique. She is excited to join The Winner School staff.

Dancers Are Looking Good!!!

Classes are now in full swing and our dancers are looking good!!! Please be sure to send tap and ballet shoes with your dancer every day. Make sure all bags, clothing, and shoes are labeled with your dancer's name. We realize how frustrating it can be when new items are lost.
We are still getting used to transitions between dayschool, preschool, lunch, and drop-offs. Please help us by reminding your dancer to use the restroom before coming to dance class. It is unfair to the rest of the dancers when class stops for bathroom breaks.
Also, we have a lot of dancers with shoes that do not fit. Please try shoes on at home to determine a proper fit. Tap shoes in peticular, can be purchase up to a full size bigger than needed  allowing room to grow!
The Winner School Dance Store opens on dance days, at 11:00AM.
We are thrilled with classes so far, and look forward to an AMAZING year!!!
